Katsjing! is a financial wellbeing initiative by Knab and Albert Heijn, helping Dutch shoppers save money effortlessly during their grocery trips. The first concept connects to Albert Heijnβs bonus card, letting customers personalize their savings by linking it to goals like a new bike, contributing to someone elseβs savings, or small investments. Using playful nudges and financial education, it encourages small, achievable savings habits. The project concept evolved for Knab into being a rewards point aggregator, allowing you to connect bonus cards of all brands in one app.
As a product designer, I focused on understanding bonus card usage and financial motivations through research, including surveys, in-store interviews, and digital prototype tests over 5-6 weeks. Following product discovery, together with stakeholders and my team, we would run definition workshops and refine our research plans.
Key features like automated top-ups, goal-based savings, and clear data-sharing practices were introduced to match user preferences. Overall, Katsjing! proved highly effective, especially for young professionals and families.
