At Qogita, I have led multiple projects and process improvements to ensure designers work at full speed.
1 – Leadership
My design leadership style is relaxed yet intentional, embracing the creative process while recognizing that there’s no single playbook for great craftsmanship. I believe growth comes from experimenting with different approaches, staying curious, and adapting to the needs of each challenge.
Over the years, I’ve developed various frameworks to tackle research, problem-solving, and design execution, but I remain flexible, focusing more on the context rather than rigid methods. I’m passionate about mentoring designers, helping them refine their unique creative voices while staying focused on impact, collaboration, and continuous growth.

Collaboration and teamwork are crucial to achieving desired outcomes. It is essential to enjoy the process of working together as a team. I am constantly seeking ways to enhance our collaboration and improve our ways of working.
As designers, we have critical responsibilities beyond design, such as setting a solid foundation for projects and guiding stakeholders through the design process. To improve our ways of working, I conducted audits and held 1:1s with my team members to understand their challenges. I then worked together with the team to outline a process for design system improvements, execution and design explorations.
Additionally, I introduced weekly and monthly rituals (such as weekly syncs) and workshops (design exercises) to up-skill our designers craft, allowing them to focus on areas they found most impactful for their own personal and organizational development.

Our design system had become fragmented, with components in Figma often misaligned with their coded counterparts in Storybook. To create consistency and improve design efficiency, we set out to align both systems while refactoring outdated or inefficient components. This effort also included updating certain components, such as buttons, in collaboration with front-end development.
Since the components were inconsistently built, we needed a structured approach to ensure the entire design team was aligned. We created a full inventory of components in Notion, as no formal design system documentation previously existed. Each designer took ownership of specific components, following a defined process of problem discovery, definition, solution, and documentation.

By distributing the work across the team and centralizing documentation, we not only improved design consistency but also established a clearer connection between design and development, ensuring both Figma and Storybook remained synchronized moving forward.
My first step was to conduct an audit of the existing state of the design system, both in Figma and Storybook, to understand where the problem areas were for the design team
We completed over 100 tasks updating the design system components. Work included but was dependent on situation: conduct the research for each component group and discuss as a design team, refactor the component in figma where necessary, migrate the documentation for that component to Notion
The problems and solutions were researched and documented in Notion thoroughly, readily shared and discussed amongst the design and front-end chapter.

Jack was a vital part of the design team at Qogita when we built out the core offering. He led a number of the largest features and laid the foundation for our core product experience. He did a great job taking the research from interviews, the product restrictions and the time constraints and turning them into business impacting features.

Following the departure of our design lead, Jack swiftly took over the responsibilities to ensure there was no gap. The design system was cleaned up and streamlined, processes were simplified to their core needs and the team was upskilled through his mentorship.
