I was the product designer for FlexNews, a personalized news app developed in late 2019. The app introduced flexible subscription models, including bundles and pay-per-article options, letting users pay only for the content they wanted. This aimed to tackle industry issues like news bubbles and the spread of fake news.

Working with the oneUp team and DPG experts, I participated in ideation, prototyping, and solution validation. We identified that many readers avoid paying for news due to high costs and rigid subscriptions. To test solutions, we ran online experiments with landing pages, surveys, and user interviews.

Our learnings indicated that consumers prefer flexible payment options, with the pay-per-article model receiving favorable responses. Users also appreciated the app's personalization features, particularly the ability to adjust their news bubble size. The final FlexNews concept successfully addressed user needs by providing a customizable and flexible news consumption experience.
